Amerika in der nahen Zukunft: Die Regierung will ein System zur Gedankenkontrolle einsetzen, das die kriminellen Impulse aller Bürger ausschalten kann. Willentlich kann danach nicht mehr gegen das Gesetz verstoßen werden. Das würde natürlich das „Karriere-Aus“ für Profi-Verbrecher bedeuten, zu denen auch Graham Bricke (Edgar Ramírez) gehört. Bislang ist es ihm nicht gelungen, das ganz große Ding zu drehen und das will er nun noch ganz schnell nachholen, bevor die Regierung ihre Pläne in die Tat umsetzt. Nicht weniger als das letzte große Verbrechen der amerikanischen Geschichte soll es werden und dafür holt sich Graham Verstärkung ins Boot: Der berühmt-berüchtigte Nachwuchs-Gangster Kevin Cash (Michael C. Pitt) und die Schwarzmarkt-Hackerin Shelby Dupree (Anna Brewster) sollen ihm beim Coup des Jahrhunderts helfen.
