Overview
Durant la révolution industrielle, l'humanité est menacée par l'émergence de monstres morts-vivants ne pouvant être tués qu'en perçant la cage d'acier autour de leur cœur. Les mordus deviennent des leurs. Ces monstres, les Kabane, se sont décuplés. Le peuple Hinomoto a construit des forteresses et s'y est barricadé. Seules les locomotives à vapeur, les Hayajiros, peuvent les relier.
