Nos encontramos en el año 2017, en el futuro la profesión más antigua del mundo la desarrollan autómatas. Un joven ejecutivo está especialmente encaprichado con su obediente y cariñosa Cherry 2000. Pero Cherry 2000 es un modelo costoso ydescontinuado y cuando sufre una avería su propietario deberá viajar hasta la peligrosa Zona 7 para encontrar recambios. Una vez allí conocerá a una mujer que le ayudará a sobrevivir en un mundo gobernado por la violencia y el terror.
