Overview
1925 ist Football nur durch die Collegeteams populär, während die junge Profiliga von den Zuschauern ignoriert wird. Das ändert sich, als Spieler-Oldie Connolly für sein Team Carter Rutherford verpflichtet, der nicht nur Football-, sondern auch Kriegsheld ist. Reporterin Lexie soll das Saubermann-Image des Jungstars unter die Lupe nehmen, fällt flirtend aber auch Connolly auf, der sich auf ein Verführungsmatch gerne einlässt. Nach starkem Politfokus in seinen letzten Arbeiten als Schauspieler und Regisseur setzt George Clooney in seiner dritten Inszenierung auf unbeschwerte Unterhaltung.
