Overview
Vampieren zijn 'uit de kist' gekomen dankzij de ontwikkeling van synthetisch bloed door een Japans bedrijf. Mensen zijn voor vampieren nu niet langer nodig als voedselbron en de wereld probeert een balans te vinden in het samenleven van mensen en vampieren. De telepathische serveerster Sookie Stackhouse en de vampier Bill Compton ontmoeten elkaar in Bon Temps, Louisiana en worden op slag verliefd op elkaar.
