Główną bohaterką opartego na opowiadaniu Lovecrafta "Potwór na progu" horroru jest doktor Elizabeth Derby - ceniona psychiatrka, która swoich zaburzonych pacjentów przyjmuje w dopieszczonym gabinecie. Po pracy wraca do domu i nudnego męża, z którym uprawia mechaniczny seks. Pewnego dnia do jej gabinetu przychodzi przerażony chłopak, Asa. Twierdzi, że ojciec próbuje przejąć kontrolę nad jego ciałem. Zachowuje się jakby miał rozdwojenie jaźni, a Elizabeth - ekspertka w dziedzinie doświadczeń pozacielesnych - postanawia mu pomóc. Tak zaczyna się jej seksualne wyzwolenie. I krwawy koszmar.
